Release
Theatrical
Liger was released on 25 August 2022 in Hindi and Telugu, with dubbed versions in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.[27][28] Earlier in January 2021, the film's release date of 9 September 2021 was announced.[29] However, owing to production delays caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, the film was postponed.
The worldwide theatrical rights for the film were priced at 81 crores, the most for any Deverakonda film.[33]
Home media
The film's satellite rights have been bought by Star India Network, while the internet streaming rights have been obtained by Disney+ Hotstar. [34]
Box office
Liger grossed 23.12 crore globally on its first day, including 15.3 crores from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with a distributor share of 13.45 crore, including 2.56 crore from the international market. So it received 35.44 crores in India and 48.5 crores globally during the weekend, and 1.5 crores on the fifth day.
Liger had a terrible box office performance. According to Latha Srinivasan of Firstpost, the film's failure was due to over-hyped promotions and public expectations.[55] According to Abhimanyu Mathur of Hindustan Times, the film's team tried to fabricate a pan-Indian hit by casting actors from the Hindi cinema industry and failed.[56]
