FIR: Faizal Ibrahim Raiz is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by Manu Anand and produced by VV Studioz's Vishnu Vishal, Shubhra, and Aryan Ramesh. Vishnu Vishal,[3] Gautham Vasudev Menon, Manjima Mohan, Reba Monica John, Raiza Wilson, and Gaurav Narayanan star in the film. Ashwath created the soundtrack for the film, while Prasanna GK edited it.

The film will be released in theatres on February 11, 2022.

Plot


Irfan Ahmed, an IIT Madras gold medallist located in Triplicane, Chennai, lives with his pals and his mother, Sub-Inspector Praveena Begum. He is dating Archana Krishnamoorthy, a Ph.D. student in Delhi, and he is also pals with Prathana Raman, a young lawyer. Irfan attends fruitless job interviews while working part-time at a perfume factory. Tired of being questioned about his religious convictions during interviews, Irfan chooses to join Perumal and his son, Karthikeyan, in their full-time perfume company. He shops for chemicals at various sites around the country. Irfan misplaces his mobile on his trip back from Hyderabad. Irfan, frustrated that he could miss his trip to Chennai, erroneously threatens airport officials with a bomb.



His arrest in Hyderabad leads to his release and arrival in Chennai. Later, at the same airport, a bomb explodes, killing numerous people. The next day, Irfan's phone is discovered near the bomb detonation scene, and he is detained once more. Ajay Dewan, an NIA adviser, has ordered his detention. Anisha Qureshi, an NIA official, and Gunashekhar, a low-ranking police officer, question him.

Irfan is thought to be Abu Bakr Abdullah, the most sought terrorist. As a result, the media portrays him as a terrorist and the embodiment of evil. He is tortured while in police custody. Prathana, moved by Irfan's plight, agrees to represent him and takes Praveena Begum to meet him. They are, however, refused admission to see Irfan. Praveena, an asthmatic sufferer, has a heart attack as a result of the humiliation caused by the public prosecution. Irfan is allowed permission to see his mother in the hospital while under police monitoring. He escapes from police detention, only to discover that Praveena Begum has died, leaving Irfan distraught. He flees the hospital, where he is met by Dr. Zazi's assistant.

Riyaz, my son. He persuades Irfan to accompany him. He inspires Irfan to make sarin gas to carry out a terrorist strike. Irfan does so, and it is later tested on Dr. Zazi, who visits the factory and is astonished to discover what is going on. Anisha arrives and surrounds Irfan and Riyaz, but she is shot by Karthikeyan, who turns out to be the actual Abu Bakr Abdullah. When the bomb goes off, Abu Bakr orders his henchman to murder Irfan because he no longer needs him, but Irfan overpowers and kills the henchman. Irfan is revealed to be an undercover NIA agent who has been waiting for years to bring Abu Bakr out of hiding. Archana, an undercover NIA agent, comes to the workshop and murders Riyaz, while Irfan murders Abu Bakr.

Ajay Dewan tells Gunashekhar and the police officers to surround the factory. After receiving approval from the Defense Minister, a government-approved drone launches a military missile at the plant. Archana attempts to persuade Irfan to leave the plant before it is destroyed. He resists, though, since he wishes to prevent the sarin gas from being activated. The rocket destroys the factory, apparently killing Irfan. Ajay Dewan is praised for averting the chemical attack. It is discovered that Ajay Dewan orchestrated the entire operation, which was only known to a few people. He recruited an officer with a background in chemical engineering and renamed him, Irfan Ahmed, erasing his previous existence. Irfan, with the assistance of Archana, Ashraf, Abu Bakr's chemical engineer, was killed to lure Abdullah to India. It is also revealed that Irfan escaped the factory missle hit and is now on another assignment, where his identity is revealed to be Faizal Ibrahim Raiz (FIR).

Production

The primary photography for the film began in October 2019, and the shooting began in December 2019. The filming was completed by February 2021 and continued into post-production. [9] The film was prohibited in Malaysia, Qatar, and Kuwait.

Music


Ashwath composed the film's soundtrack. VV Studioz and Divo Soundtrack [10] purchased the film's music label.

According to the Times of India, the film had the largest opening in Tamil Nadu, grossing more than 8 crores. [23] The film made more than 24 crores (US$3.0 million) and became one of the year's highest-grossing Tamil films. [2]
